A vent pipe passes through the roof deck and roofing, sized per the architectural plans. A twenty-two gauge galvanized iron roof jack sits over the penetration, sealed at its base with a bitum sealant. A metal flashing ring with sealant wraps the vent pipe six inches above the roof surface. The vent pipe extends upward to a minimum height of twelve inches or per local code.
