A trapeze pipe hanger assembly features a horizontal support channel suspended by vertical hanger rods. The rods are secured with support nuts and locking nuts. Uninsulated and insulated pipes rest upon the channel, held in place by loose-fitting pipe clamps and pipe block brackets on each side. Insulated pipes incorporate high-density rigid insulation or treated wood plugs with a sheet metal sleeve of nine inches minimum length and a protective shield between the insulation and the hanger. A hanger rod schedule specifies rod sizes for various pipe diameters, with three-eighths inch diameter rods for pipes one-half to four inches and one-half inch diameter rods for pipes five to eight inches.
