An air conditioning unit is installed level on a unit curb above the roof, connecting to a copper condensate drain sized to the unit outlet. The drainage line incorporates a four-inch trap and a vent line installed with a slope. An external trap must be provided if not internal to the unit, per manufacturer requirements. The plumbing contractor is responsible for the condensate drains and preventing damage to the sheetrock ceiling from carryover problems.
