Vertical pipes pass through concrete floor slabs using either a cast-in-place sleeve sized to provide a two-inch annular space or a core drilled floor sized to provide a one-quarter-inch annular space. Post-tension decks require X-ray scanning prior to core drilling. Riser clamps such as Anvil Figure 261 support the pipe at the top of the slab. Caulk sealant is applied where insulation does not occur, and fire-stopping is installed at all rated floors.
