A hot water return pump is connected to the plumbing system with isolation ball valves on both sides for maintenance. Union-type connections allow the pump to be removed for service. An aquastat is set to start the pump at a water temperature of 105 degrees Fahrenheit and stop it at 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Gauge cocks and a swing check valve manage flow direction and pressure monitoring.
