The reinforced precast concrete interceptor rests on a bed of undisturbed earth or compacted sand backfill with four to six inches of slope pavement or grade sloped away from the manholes. Two twenty-four-inch diameter cast-iron manhole rings with heavy-duty gas-tight covers sit atop concrete adjustment rings of varying heights to suit the interceptor depth, and must be left accessible. The unit contains internal liquid level baffles spaced twelve inches minimum with a three-inch clearance, and a six-inch clearance at the bottom. A separate twenty-four-inch sampling port features a heavy-duty manhole ring, gas-tight cover, and a vent sized per drawings. Concrete pipe risers of required length connect with joints sealed using concrete grout, while the concrete base is sealed watertight.
