A vertical pipe passes through a concrete floor slab using a cast-in-place pipe sleeve secured with a minimum of three anchor bolts. The annular space includes backing material as required and sealant applied at top and bottom typical joints, with a vapor barrier and pipe insulation where specified. An alternate uninsulated condition incorporates a riser clamp bearing on the top of the sleeve. Fire-rated floor assemblies require an approved fire-stopping system consisting of sealant, backing material, and insulation matching the required fire rating per specification section 22 0000.
