An insulated metal curb with a minimum height of 18 inches is mounted over roof decking and supported by structural steel framing below. A watertight galvanized sheet metal cap covers the top of the curb to serve as counter flashing. Insulated refrigeration piping penetrates the assembly, with a weather-tight caulk seal applied around the full circumference of the pipe. The piping connects to a fan coil unit and a condensing unit using manufacturer-recommended accessories.
