An underground two-inch schedule-forty polyvinyl chloride conduit runs within a trench featuring a three-inch sand fill bed and sand fill surround. A trace wire is positioned above the conduit, and a yellow warning tape is installed six inches below finish grade. The conduit slopes at one-sixteenth of an inch per foot down toward the building, with the top of the conduit set at eighteen inches below finish grade. At the building foundation, the conduit passes through a wall sleeve equipped with a mechanical link seal. Both ends feature sealed caps with pipe grommets.
