A floor drain is recessed into a structural concrete slab and detailed to coordinate with a finished tile floor. A waterproof membrane is sandwiched between the concrete slab and a concrete fill layer, integrated with the drain body. A cement bed supports the tile floor, sloping toward the drain grate. The drain connection utilizes a Ty-Seal attachment to the waste pipe. The drain grate is set flush with the surrounding tile floor.
