A steel pipe passes vertically through a concrete floor slab within a pipe sleeve sized one size larger than the pipe. A riser clamp consisting of a 3/16 inch by 1-1/4 inch steel band grips the pipe and transfers its vertical load to the floor. The two-piece clamp halves are secured around the pipe using 3/8 inch by 1-1/4 inch bolts and nuts on both sides.
