The mixing valve mounts at the point of use, connected to incoming hot and cold water lines with typical ball valves on each supply line. Pipe sizes vary according to plumbing fixture requirements. The mixed tempered water outlet is plumbed downstream to the fixtures. The mixing valve is set at 110 degrees Fahrenheit for hand wash sinks and lavatories, and set at 140 degrees Fahrenheit for janitor sinks.
