Anodless risers are wrapped or coated to six inches above grade and connect to polyethylene natural gas piping buried a minimum of 18 inches below the ground. Steel-to-plastic connectors join the metallic risers to the polyethylene pipe using heat fusion connections located 36 inches from the building. An 18 gauge insulated copper tracer wire is stubbed up above grade at both ends for detection. Listed 90 degree bends or risers may have less than 30 inches of horizontal metallic piping.
