A pipe, conduit, or support post penetrates a roof assembly finished with a single-ply membrane. A flashing membrane extends up from the roof deck to provide waterproofing around the penetration, standing at least eight inches high with a one-inch minimum vertical lap at the top. The top of the flashing membrane is secured to the pipe with a stainless steel hose clamp featuring a cushion strip. Approved urethane sealant is applied at the top edge of the flashing to seal against moisture infiltration. A note specifies providing a minimum of twelve inches of clearance between roof penetrations and adjacent flashings.
