An interior gas connection drop extends from the gas main sized per plan down to mechanical equipment. A gas cock shut-off valve is installed on the supply branch before the drop. A dirt leg, or sediment trap, extends twelve inches long where possible below the branch intersection and is sealed with a threaded cap at the bottom. An interior approved type flexible metal hose connects the vertical drop directly to the equipment.
