The gas distribution piping includes a main supply line feeding into a gas shut-off valve and a dirt leg with a minimum length of six inches. A gas pressure regulator is installed in the line, followed downstream by a temperature and pressure test port located not less than ten pipe diameters away. An additional test port sits upstream of the regulator, and a union connects the line to an eighteen to twenty-four inch gas flex connector leading to the appliance.
