Two S12X31.8 steel structural shapes meet end-to-end and are joined with complete joint penetration welds at the flanges and three-sixteenth inch typical fillet welds at the web. The connection is detailed with precise beveling on the beam ends and weld symbols specifying full penetration groove welds top and bottom.
