An insertion flow meter requires specific straight pipe distances upstream and downstream to ensure a valid flow rate reading. The piping layout requires a minimum of ten pipe diameters upstream and five pipe diameters downstream of the meter insertion point. The entire assembly must be installed to allow unobstructed access for maintenance and operation.
