Masonry wall lintel details show concrete filled lintel courses over openings up to twelve feet wide within a concrete masonry unit wall per architectural plans. Openings of three feet four inches or less require two number four horizontal reinforcing bars at the top and bottom. Openings greater than three feet four inches up to eight feet require two number six horizontal reinforcing bars at the top and bottom with number three Z-shaped ties at eight inches on center with alternating bends. Openings greater than eight feet up to twelve feet require two number seven horizontal reinforcing bars at the top and bottom with number three Z-shaped ties at eight inches on center with alternating bends. Each end requires eight inches of bearing on a reinforced full height grouted cell.
