An elevator sump pump sits within a minimum twenty-four by twenty-four by twenty-four inch sump in the elevator pit floor. A two-inch pump discharge line routes upward with a union and check valve. An oil sensor is connected near the pump alongside a power cable with a three-prong plug up to six feet long. The system connects to a non-GFCI receptacle, a means of disconnect, and a junction box for pump controls. Separate conduits for power and controls extend to an exterior pump control panel located outside the elevator shaft. A four-inch hub drain with a twenty-four-inch standpipe and trap primer is positioned adjacent to the pit.
