Suspended pipe runs are supported by a threaded hanger rod secured with a support nut and locking nut above a heavy-duty clevis hanger. For insulated lines, a sixteen-gauge zinc-coated sheet steel saddle at least twelve inches long wraps the bottom of the vapor barrier insulation to protect it from crushing. The pipe rests directly inside the clevis strap or over the protective saddle, with the entire assembly hung from overhead structure.
