A reinforced concrete grade beam with width and height sized per plan supports a seven-inch thick concrete slab on grade over a compacted subgrade. The slab is reinforced with number four bars at eighteen inches center-to-center each way, centered within the slab thickness. Number four hook dowels are spaced at eighteen inches center-to-center with alternating hook directions, tying the slab to the grade beam.
