A structural steel column and base plate assembly connects to buckling-restrained braces via a gusset plate welded to the column base. The two-inch-thick base plate rests on a typical layer of non-shrink grout and is anchored with extended anchor rods supported by two-by-eight-inch plates measuring one foot ten inches long. Each brace connects to the gusset plate using an erection bolt, with additional components provided by others as indicated. A designated working point establishes the geometric intersection of the brace centerlines at the base.
