A vertical exterior wall expansion joint integrates an aluminum panel system on the exterior with 5/8-inch Type-X gypsum sheathing, air barriers AB-01A and AB-04, and a sealant joint with backer rod SE-01. The interior features framing with insulation INS-04A and gypsum sheathing, accommodating a twenty-five-inch joint width with an XLSC-2500 expansion joint cover by Construction Specialties. A water barrier connects to the horizontal seismic joint water barrier, and a fifteen-inch interior joint features an LAF-1500 expansion joint cover matching adjacent finishes. A fire barrier is provided at the wall opening per the manufacturer.
