A steel beam and column support wood framing with a steel plate three inches wide by one-quarter inch thick on each side secured by three one-inch diameter machine bolts. Plywood sheathing bears on a four-by nailer above the steel beam. Two-by-six top plates run continuously with double wood studs spaced at sixteen inches on center connected by sixteen-penny nails at twelve inches on center. Six-by-six blocking spans a minimum of three bays with typical quarter-inch fillet welds.
