An insulated pipe penetrates through a built-up roof assembly consisting of steel decking, plywood sheathing, and R-19 insulation. A Stoneman lead flashing model number 1000 with a six-inch skirt and four-pound weight is set in mastic over the roof surface, with walking pads similarly set in mastic nearby. The vertical pipe is wrapped in one-inch insulation and protected by aluminum jacketing that extends downward over a counter flashing. The perimeter joint is caulked with urethane and fastened around the circumference with galvanized roofing nails at four inches on center, placed two inches in from the flashing edge. Voids and joints are filled with mastic to ensure weather tightness.
