A 1-1/2 inch waste line feeds into a P-trap featuring a ground joint connection and a slip joint nut and seal. A 1/2 inch primer tube connects to the trap via a ground joint connection with its invert located 1/8 inch above the static water level, enabling overflow into the primer tube when a temporary head of water is created. The primer tube extends through a compression fitting and wall escutcheon at the finished wall, meeting a female National Pipe Thread outlet, wall tube, and escutcheon. Recommended rough-in dimensions place the primer tube 1-3/4 inches horizontally and 3 inches vertically from the main waste line.
