The water heater is secured with three-by-three-by-three-eighths-inch steel angle straps and eight-by-eight-by-three-eighths-inch steel wall plates bolted to the wall. Each wall plate utilizes two three-quarter-inch expansion anchors with a four-inch minimum embedment into a solid grouted section of the masonry wall. Additional three-quarter-inch diameter by six-inch long expansion anchors are provided at each corner of the unit legs. A four-inch diameter pipe and one-quarter-inch gusset reinforce the assembly connection.
