A remote-mounted hydropneumatic tank sits on a floor slab at the roof level mechanical room and connects to a cold water supply line. An isolation valve controls the cold water system connection, while a charging valve located on the tank is pressurized per the equipment schedule. A Watts 174A water pressure relief valve connects to the system piping and discharges to a drain. A hose end drain valve is positioned near the base of the tank alongside the system connection. Floor notes specify that pipe sizes are determined per plans or riser diagrams, and the air charge in the tank must be maintained at two pounds per square inch less than the water pressure.
