The gas supply line enters through a shut-off valve followed by a dirt leg with a minimum length of six inches. A gas pressure regulator is installed in the line, with test and purge ports located at least ten pipe diameters downstream from the regulator. A union is provided for maintenance access before the line transitions to an eighteen to twenty-four inch gas flexible connector for the final appliance hookup.
