An air handler drain pan connects to a union fitting and a condensate trap sized according to the unit specifications. Dimension A requires a minimum of two inches, while dimension B requires one and a half times the static pressure. A vertical vent pipe extends a minimum of two inches above the overflow level. The horizontal drain line pitches downward toward the termination at a minimum rate of one-eighth inch per foot. A capped tee with a screwed cap serves as a cleanout at the end and at each change of direction.
