A 100 schedule 40 PVC riser pipe passes through a finished floor and concrete slab inside a pipe sleeve. Sealant fills the annular space between the riser and the sleeve at the finished floor level. A continuous vapor barrier underlies the slab and seals tightly around the pipe penetration using wrapping tape. Below the slab, a 100 schedule 40 PVC main pipe connects to the riser and runs horizontally through non-perforated gravel sub-base material.
