A wood stud wall top plate is tied across the floor level using a Simpson MSTI60 strap tie fastened with sixty 10d nails at four feet on center. Floor joists bear on the top plate and are secured with floor joist hangers. A six-by-six top plate is reinforced with Simpson HST3 strap ties on each side at all splice locations. Sheathing is applied per the floor framing plan and foundation plan, and the finish floor line is established above.
