An underground natural gas pipe penetrates a concrete structure passing through a schedule 40 welded steel sleeve fitted with an interstitial spacer. The steel gas line transitions to a polyethylene gas line using a pre-fabricated steel-to-polyethylene transition fitting. A steel nipple connects to the sleeve and transitions to a one-and-a-half-inch relief line terminated above ground with a gooseneck and insect screen.
