An overflow roof drain assembly penetrates a steel deck roof equipped with insulation and roofing. The drain body is supported by a receiver pan beneath the deck and secured with an underdeck clamp. A sixteen-gauge galvanized sheet metal plate is secured to the top of the strainer as a hood, extending two inches beyond the outside of the drain bowl with smoothed sharp edges to minimize rust staining at the overflow discharge.
