The water pipe is supported by a standard clevis assembly suspended from a hanger rod secured with double nuts. A pipe hanger C-clamp attaches the hanger rod to the overhead structural steel beam. The pipe insulation is notched at the top to fit around the hanger components. This detail applies to domestic hot water, domestic hot recirculation, and building heating water pipes six inches and smaller, with gas pipes similar without insulation.
