The water heater is secured to a solid grouted masonry wall using 3x3x3/8-inch steel angle straps wrapped around the tank and connected to 8x8x3/8-inch steel wall plates. Each wall plate is fastened with two 3/4-inch diameter expansion anchors having a 4-inch minimum embedment into the masonry. The assembly incorporates 1/4-inch gusset plates at the flange connections, and the tank rests on legs provided with the unit with 3/4-inch by 6-inch long Kwik bolts required at each corner.
