A plumbing vent pipe penetrates the roof deck, with the annular space between the pipe and deck filled with oakum packing. Roofing membrane extends up the pipe to a height of 10 inches, secured at the top by a stainless steel clamp and sealed with a bead of sealant. The flashing extends a minimum of 12 inches horizontally across the roof deck surface to ensure a watertight transition. The total height of the flashing above the roof deck is 12 inches.
