A one-inch cold water line supplies a Therm Omega Tech drain tempering valve, which connects to a four-inch sanitary tee with a two-inch tapped inlet via a one-and-a-quarter-inch by two-inch thread reducer. A two-inch nipple positions the temperature sensor within the drain pipe water stream, ensuring the sensor aligns with the inside pipe wall. The sanitary tee includes a tailpiece and connects to the branch piping. A Watts 009 one-inch reduced pressure zone backflow preventer with an air gap fitting, strainer, and quarter-turn shut-off valves is installed one foot above the finished floor, with the air gap fitting draining to a floor receptor. Additional drain tempering valves are piped in a similar configuration as required.
