A minimum one-half-inch cold water supply line feeds a trap primer valve, which drops down through a single supply tube into a distribution unit capable of serving multiple floor drains. From the distribution unit, a minimum one-half-inch copper primer line extends to maintain the water seal in the floor drain trap and prevent the escape of sewer gases. The installation requires primers to be spaced at a minimum of forty feet apart on a common supply line, with the valve mounted one foot above the finished floor for every twenty feet of primer line.
