A domestic hot water system centered on an AO Smith electric heat pump water heater (DWH-1) with 50-gallon storage. Cold water enters through a double check valve assembly (DCVA-3) and a flow meter (FM), with an expansion tank (ET-3) connected to the supply line. A recirculation pump (RCP-1) maintains flow in the 3/4-inch hot water circulation (HWC) line, which returns to the system at 105 degrees Fahrenheit. A thermostatic mixing valve (TMV-1) and an electronic throttle valve (ETV) controlled by an ETV controller regulate the final 1-1/2-inch domestic hot water (DHW) supply temperature to 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
