An HVAC unit by others connects to the supply piping using a flexible appliance connector where required for field installation. A union is provided typically if the connection is not flanged. An isolation valve allows servicing of the equipment. A dirt leg with a threaded cap and a three-inch minimum drop collects sediment ahead of the connection.
