The condensate drain line connects to the air handling unit drain pan using a union and matches the size of the drain pan nipple. The drainage assembly utilizes Type L copper tubing with wrought copper fittings and includes a threaded brass cleanout plug at the top of the vertical drop. Trap depth equals the air conditioning unit total static pressure plus one inch, but not less than two inches. Some units may not require a trap as shown and must be verified in the field, with piping continuation detailed on the architectural or mechanical plans.
DRAIN LINE SHALL BE AT LEAST THE SAME SIZE AS THE NIPPLE ON THE DRAIN PAN. ALL CONDENSATE DRAIN LINES WITHIN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 15400, BUILDING SHALL BE INSULATED IN SEE DRAWING FOR SIZES. PLUMBING SPECIFICATIONS. TRAP DEPTH SHALL BE EQUAL TO THE A/C UNIT TOTAL STATIC PRESSURE 2-INCHES. PLUS 1-INCH BUT NOT LESS THAN SOME UNITS MAY NOT REQUIRE A TRAP AS SHOWN. FIELD VERIFY. PIPING, SEE PLANS.
