The domestic cold water service enters below grade through a four-inch domestic cold water pipe equipped with an insulating flange to prevent galvanic corrosion. A four-inch water meter is installed downstream of the entry, isolated by control valves on both the supply and discharge sides. Pressure gauges monitor the system pressure upstream and downstream of the meter assembly. A bypass line with a dedicated valve bridges the water meter assembly for continuous service during maintenance.
