An LH-series or K-series open-web steel joist bears on a joist girder per plan beneath a metal roof deck. A bottom chord brace is supplied and required by the joist manufacturer where specified, connected with a one-eighth inch fillet weld typical. The assembly differentiates between speed bay and non-speed bay conditions regarding bottom chord bracing requirements.
