A water heater is anchored to a metal stud wall assembly constructed from six-inch eighteen-gauge studs spaced at sixteen inches on center with gypsum wallboard. The water heater is supported against the wall using a Unistrut P1000 channel secured to the studs with half-inch through-bolts and washers. Three-quarter-inch by twenty-two-gauge perforated metal straps wrap around the water heater and connect to the Unistrut assembly. Gypsum wallboard spacers maintain a minimum one-inch clearance from the wall surface. Number fourteen sheet metal screws fasten the components together, and associated electrical and plumbing accessories include a one-day time clock, aquastat, and condensate trap.
