A vent pipe penetrates a concrete or metal deck roof assembly layered with insulation and roofing. A roof jack supplied by the plumbing contractor is placed on top of the insulation and sealed all around the vent pipe by the roofing contractor. The vent pipe extends a minimum of 18 inches above the roof.
