An air handler drain pan connects to a condensate drain line via a union followed by a P-trap and a capped tee cleanout. The drain size must be at least the same size as the nipple on the drain. Dimension A requires a minimum of two inches, and dimension B requires one and one-half times the static pressure. A capped tee with a screwed cap is provided at the end and at each change of direction for use as a cleanout. The horizontal drain line pitches down toward the termination at a minimum of one-eighth inch per foot slope, with a two inch minimum vertical extension, and terminates per the architectural or mechanical plans.
