An electric water heater is mounted on a two-inch insulation pad and a drain pan, with the tank drain piped to a floor drain. The unit features a three-quarter-inch relief valve and a vacuum breaker on the domestic water piping. An expansion tank is connected to the system, and a hot water circulation pump line includes a one-half-inch ball valve with a balancing stop. Pipe sizes and system diagrams are to be verified per plans. The water heater is seismically braced to the adjacent wall per code requirements.
