A storm drain pipe connects to the underside of the deck, receiving drainage from a planter drain assembly set upon the top of the deck. Planting media surrounds the upper portion of the drain assembly up to the designated top of the planted area. Filter fabric is installed between the drain components and the surrounding planting media.
